Project 1 Draft

Title: The Anatomy of Monsters

Concept: This will be a piece in which three "cut up" pictures of monsters will be displayed (A picture of a Werewolf, A picture of a Ghost, and a picture of a Witch). The audience will be given a prompt to click on different segments of the picture to learn more about the anatomy of the particular monster. When they do so, that part of the picture will dissapear to be replaced by a part of the human anatomy and a short description about the piece of the monster they clicked on. As the audience clicks more and more segements of the different pictures it will be slowly revealed that the horrifying monster is nothing more than a human archetype that we fear. The werewolf is revealed to be an insane serial killer, the ghost is an old man who let his life go by, annd the witch is nothing more than a woman from another culture we don't understand. In this way, the real fears that people fear in this story is nothing more than humanity, further revealing that we are so afraid of these monsters because we are afraid of turning into these people and delving into the details about both monsters and humanity that truly scare us. This would be a simple idea, wouldn't take too much coding to pull off, and the pictures could be cut into segments using simple photoshop tools.
